Go Cardless Direct Debit Associate Links Process

1. Ask them for the following details and write down the following details on your Direct Debit / Payment Form:
   1. Email address
   2. First Name
   3. Last Name
   4. Phone Number
   5. Billing Address (including postcode)
   6. Sort Code
   7. Account Number
2. Confirm their details – read through their details with them again to confirm everything is spelled correctly and the numbers are correct.
3. Confirm the payment – confirm with them the monthly amount they are contributing and that it is protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee.
4. Confirm correct link – check title of payment page is the correct amount and has your initials
5. Fill in their details from your Direct Debit Payment Form – filling them in double checking the exact spelling / numbers / details of everything as you go.
6. Check boxes – Make sure the ‘I don’t have a gocardless account’ box is checked. Check the ‘I am paying on behalf of an organisation’ box as appropriate.
7. Create Password – for purposes of security and ease we will be creating a random password for them ourselves, so that after setting up their account neither us or them know what it is. So create a random password yourself, different for every person. Ensure you duplicate it properly in each field. But DO NOT record the password anywhere.
8. Click Continue – to finalise the payment. They will now receive the 3 Gocardless emails.
9. Tell them about the 3 payment emails they will receive – Tell them that they will receive 3 emails from our payment system called GoCardless. Tell them it’s like Paypal for Direct Debits. Tell them what the emails will be:
   1. One confirming the subscription amount set up
   2. Another confirming the Direct Debit setup
   3. Another confirming the payment has been processed
10. Tell them about their Gocardless account – you will be given a random password for security reasons so that we don’t know what it is. In those 3 emails you’ll be able to login to your account where you can just request to change your password and they will send you a confirmation email to do so.
11. Tell them about thank you email – I will also be sending you a personal thank you email sharing the next steps from here.
12. Briefly describe the next steps – share with them we’ll be in touch to tell them about the next steps with Learning From Legends including how to access the exclusive content, how they can get involved in contributing or writing and also the children we will be helping through this.
