We often say at the Legends Report that the difference between those who achieve extraordinary levels of success and those that don’t, is their ability to turn adversity into opportunity. In this very powerful video, Dwayne Johnson, the highest earning movie star in Hollywood last year, talks about his prior career as a wrestler. In particular, he speaks about the impact of being booed by a crowd of 20,000 people had on him, and the angst he felt about not being authentic.

Instead of retreating and running away from this problem, he chose to ask …what could he learn about himself, and through this he realised that the crowd could sense that he was not being himself, and so he decided to tackle this situation head on. He asked to speak to the crowd directly at his next wrestling match, and won them over by being himself! The rest as he say’s is history.

Legends know that in order to succeed they have to be their authentic selves.Trying to pretend to be what we are not, is painful to our hearts and minds and creates much anxiety. When we have a strong sense of self, we accept ourselves warts and all. Obviously most legends want to continually work on the areas of their character that need developing, and they just don’t beat themselves up about their imperfections, all the time:)
