Inspirational Quotes From Muhammad Ali

Legends Report Quote - Ali

A Dose of Inspiration to Get Your Day Moving

By Jatinder Singh, Associate Partner & Mentorship Coach, Lighthouse International

The reason why Muhammad Ali is regarded as one of the greatest ever sportsmen, is because he represented more to the world than his chosen sport. He inspired many people, as who he was, and what he said, applied to other people’s lives as well as his own. Here is a collection of some of his most inspirational quotes.

“Live every day like it’s your last because someday you’re going to be right.”
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

“The man who views the world at 50 the same as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.”

“He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.”

“Champions aren’t made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them – a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill, and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.”

“Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even.”

“I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.’”

“If they can make penicillin out of moldy bread, they can sure make something out of you.”

“Life is a gamble. You can get hurt, but people die in plane crashes, lose their arms and legs in car accidents; people die every day. Same with fighters: some die, some get hurt, some go on. You just don’t let yourself believe it will happen to you.”

“Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It’s not something you learn in school. But if you haven’t learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven’t learned anything.”

And perhaps most importantly of all…

“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”

As you can see, so much of what Muhammad Ali valued was due to his own journey through life, and the resultant growth, as he faced and overcame his challenges. Here’s a video of Mr Ali at his best!

Enjoy!
